Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is focused on qualifying and pursuing presenting Autodesk Design & Advanced Solutions Services Solutions for prospects and clients in the our Manufacturing, Engineering Services & Architectural, Engineering & Construction (AEC) industries. clients. The BDM will develop an understanding of the decision-making and design processes of prospects and clients, conduct design process assessments, develop strong value propositions, and deliver business solution presentations to executive decision-makers. The Business Development Manager's goal is to achieve and exceed quarterly quota targets by delivering a clear and consistent value proposition, and by helping our customers improve their design chain processes.

We are seeking a high-energy, passionate and motivated individual to help companies better compete with state of the art design software tools and business processes. Advanced Solutions is an entrepreneurial business and we are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to think outside the box. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written skills, and demonstrated success in business relationship and trusted advisor selling.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • The BDM manages an assigned account base and is charged with developing business opportunities through a solution-selling process to deliver significant business value to our clients.
  • Have an understanding of CAD-based design and engineering solutions in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Be comfortable in business discussions with Senior Management and Executives.
  • Develop and execute a business plan to exceed sales targets.
  • Be able to professionally position the value proposition of Autodesk 3D design solutions and associated services offered by Advanced Solutions.
  • Develop professional solution proposals which include products, services, implementation plans, and business justifications (ROI).
  • Work with Technical Engineers to provide technical product information and/or demonstrations.
  • Document Key Sales Activities in the CRM.
  • Maintain an accurate Sales Pipeline and Forecast in the CRM.
  • Participate in marketing-related activities.
  • Qualify prospective customers and identify cross-sell and/or up sell opportunities.
  • Represent Advanced Solutions in a professional manner to customers, prospects and to the business community at large.

Compensation

Industrial & Systems Engineer - Louisville, KY

An Industrial & Systems Engineer applies Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, and analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, architectural, engineering, construction and service operations. Develops models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provide summary analysis and metrics as directed by higher level employees for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).

Industrial & Systems Engineers apply industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements. Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes as directed to enhance workflow performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization. Utilizes engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products. Analyzes and supports the design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

Software Engineer - Louisville, KY

Advanced Solutions is a recognized leader in implementing and supporting 2D and 3D design software solutions, and has grown to become one of the largest Autodesk resellers in the United States. Advanced Solutions provides a wide array of software engineering services including Autodesk product customization, design verification, simulation, and custom software.

We are seeking a talented developer skilled in many aspects of software development. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, always learning and willing to expand their horizons. While they may prefer a particular platform or technology, they are able to recognize when a different solution might be appropriate. They are able to adapt and pick up new and different technologies quickly. Candidates will be expected to code primarily in C# for a wide range of Autodesk products along with various internal projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Solutions Engineer - Architecture & Building

Architecture Solution Engineers work to specify and implement software solutions to help Architecture design customers address issues and achieve business goals. The Solutions Engineer proposes solutions based on their strong industry knowledge, in-depth product knowledge and business acumen. They thoroughly understand the capabilities of the software solutions and the business benefits customers can realize by implementing those solutions. A Solutions Engineer functions as a trusted advisor to the customer.

What does a Solutions Engineer do?

  • Assesses client current business process, recommends and implements solutions to meet client needs. Work closely with clients to document and standardize design processes.
  • Writes deliverable documents including project schedules, procedures guides, flow charts, and best practices guides, agendas, and follow up memos.
  • Conducts/attends daily project status meetings.
  • Initiates communication with team members and clients as necessary in order to ensure project success.
  • Executes solution implementation, including any task that might be necessary to complete project deliverables. Examples include software configuration, content creation, preparation of documentation, custom mentoring or training, etc.

  • 5-10 years of working experience in Architectural industry.
  • BS in Architecture or relevant extensive project design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing BIM or 3D design solutions.

  • Initiative with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Solutions Engineer - MEP

The MEP Solutions Engineer is a key contributor in the implementation of software solutions and integrated practices in the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, piping, process design and construction industries. This engineer will work with leading edge engineering firms to establish and execute a successful strategy to resolve software, business and workflow complications based on the improvement and standardization of technology, environment and processes.

The MEP Solutions Engineer will provide complete technical leadership, from the initial solution definition based on current conditions through the delivery of the implementation services. The engineer will promote their strong industry expertise and technical comprehension to become a trusted advisor of the customer and drive the solution through to a successful completion.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze client business requirements, obstacles and objectives.
  • Define client process, workflow and environment, as well as prepare documentation for submission.
  • Execute project implementation plans and schedules.
  • Obtain approval of system design, functional and technical specifications and other project deliverables prior to configuration development activities.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.

  • Deep knowledge of how plant design projects are bid and executed, critical roles and relationships, and how CAD systems are used.
  • Understanding of the Full Plant Design Ecosystem including how engineering firms (large and small), plant owners, fabricators and construction firms collaborate and communicate to complete projects.
  • Familiarity with each plant design discipline including process, P&ID, piping, structural, equipment and stress analysis.
