Autodesk® Maya® 2012 software delivers new toolsets
for previsualization and games prototyping extended simulation capabilities,
and improved pipeline integration. Artists can more easily explore, refine, and present their ideas prior to final
production, thanks to a high-fidelity, high-performance viewport; node-based
render passes; camera sequencer enhancements; and new camera rigs, while editable
motion trails make animating easier. With new physics solvers, together with
enhancements to the Nucleus unified simulation framework, artists can create
a wider range of convincing effects in less time. In addition, added support
for vector displacement and Ptex maps and single-step interoperability with
Autodesk smoother multi-application workflows.
Leading architects, automotive and consumer products designers, and creative
advertising professionals use the Maya toolset to help explore, validate, and
communicate their designs.
Architecture– Maya offers a robust platform with
powerful 3D modeling software toolsets that complement the building information
modeling (BIM) workflow during conceptualization.
Manufacturing – Complementing the Autodesk® Inventor®,
Autodesk® Alias®, and Autodesk® Showcase® family of products,
the Maya toolset is used by manufacturers, marketers, and their ad agencies
for work ranging from conceptual modeling to advanced animated visualizations.
Automotive – Maya is used by designers at automotive
OEMs to complement the Alias and Showcase family of products for a variety
of tasks such as 3D modeling, data preparation and cleanup, and advanced
visualization.
Consumer products manufacturing – Maya enables consumer
products manufacturers to turn digital prototypes into highly realistic advertisements
– without the need for costly physical prototypes and photography shoots.
